I was born and raised in the heart of San Mateo County, just 20 minutes south of San Francisco. Throughout high school, I was well aware of the political and social issues that America was facing. Because of this, during my freshman year in high school, I went through boot camp and volunteered to be a Police Explorer for the city of Burlingame. This allowed me to break many barriers of racial and ethnical stereotypes as my family was just 1 of the only 5 Mexican families within the town. With this experience in Law Enforcement and the wisdom my brother provides through his own experience as a U.S. Marine, I grew interested in joining the military as well. This leads into what I my career goals for my future are.
As a highly driven individual, I have already prepared what I wish to accomplish within the following years. As I said before, I have a strong desire to serve our country. After finishing Year Up, I will work for about 2 years while finishing my general education classes at the College of San Mateo. After this, I will proceed to serve in the United States Army for at the most 4 years. This will allow me to pay for tuition and enroll in a University of my choice to earn my bachelors degree. From this point, I will either continue in school to earn my master's degree or continue my professional career as an IT/QA specialist.
Some personal hobbies of mine are mountain biking, hiking, backpacking, camping, and exercising. I am highly interested in fitness, nutrition, education, and of course Technology! I love to follow news on Technology, Science, Social Action, and Politics.
